Lions | Fisher apparently released to free up salary cap space
Updating a previous item, Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports free-agent CB Travis Fisher (Lions) was apparently released from the team Thursday, April 30, to free up salary cap space for the team. Fisher said, "They just told me that they were just releasing me to free some money up, but it's not like they were paying me $4 million anyway. I think it's kind of a bogus excuse, but it's just a situation where I guess they wanted to go another way."
