Packers | Replacing Edwards

As an update to a previously reported story, the Associated Press reports the Green Bay Packers will now attempt to replace nickel back Antuan Edwards who is out for the year with a torn ACL. He refused to put any blame on the shoddy sod that came up in huge chunks at Ericsson Stadium. "Anytime you lose a quality player who's very dedicated and having a great year and being productive for you, it's a setback," defensive coordinator Ed Donatell said. Coach Mike Sherman was searching the waiver wire Monday for help. The team may turn to its own reserves for help. Tod McBride could move up to nickel back with rookie Bhawoh Jue, Allen Rossum, or Chris Akins or any combination replacing him in the dime. The Packers might move strong S Darren Sharper around on some passing downs, Donatell said.
