Panthers | Felt Brown was first-round talent

Steve Reed, of CarolinaGrowl.com, reports the Carolina Panthers viewed DE Everette Brown as a first-round draft choice, which is why they felt they could trade away their 2010 first-round pick to move up in the second-round and draft him. When he slipped out of the first round, the team quickly began making calls to move up and obtain him. General manager Marty Hurney said they entered the draft looking for a pass rusher and felt the addition of Brown dramatically upgraded their pass rush. Hurney noted the team feels Brown can come in and help them immediately.
