Broncos | Rouen Gets New Deal

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos P Tom Rouen agreed to reduce his base salary from $600,000 to the veteran minimum $477,000, a $123,000 salary cap savings for the team. "I've been playing this game a long time, and I know this was the right thing to do," Rouen said. "The money's not going to change my lifestyle. It shows that I'm a team guy, and it just puts the whole episode behind us." Rouen beat out rookie Nick Harris, now with the Bengals, to win the punting job. Harris' $276,000 signing bonus is also counting against the team's salary cap.
