Phillies | Howard working to improve defense

Ken Rosenthal, of FOXSports.com, reports Philadelphia Phillies 1B Ryan Howard started working on improving his defense with third base coach Sam Perlozzo in early January this year. Howard has also been working to improve his throws to second base after making significant improvements in his glovework and footwork. Perlozzo worked with Howard on developing a quite glove; not flipping, not snatching, but keeping the glove low, so only a slight movement is required after the ball is put in play.
