Redskins | Evans wants chance to start

David Elfin, of The Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins DE Demetric Evans, who is an impending free agent, said he would like to re-sign with the Redskins but wants to sign with a team that will give him the chance to start. "I've proven I can start in one of the toughest divisions in football. I don't want to be a backup anymore. I started in 2005 at tackle when [DT Cornelius Griffin] was hurt, and I started at end when [DE Phillip Daniels] was hurt in 2004 and again last year. I want to stay in Washington, but I want to be a starter," Evans said. The Redskins are expected to meet with Evans' agent at the NFL Combine to discuss his future with the team.
