Browns | News & Notes

Jeff Schudel reports for the Morning Journal the Cleveland Browns will be getting off to a fresh start under new coach Butch Davis when mini-camp starts on Monday. First impressions will be important and all players start on an even level. For example, S Marquis Smith won't be given preferential treatment over S Earl Little as he was last year as they battle for a starting safety role. Davis wants to see and judge for himself. He expects to experiment some moving players around at different positions. OL Jim Pyne (ACL rehab) will be limited but he will take part in some individual work. In other news, Davis and president Carmen Policy keep talking about June 1 when the next wave of veteran releases will occur. The Browns will be watching closely to see who is released.
