Mets | Burgos speaks about incident from jail
Updating a continuing story, the Associated Press' Dionisio Soldevila reports New York Mets RP Ambiorix Burgos spoke Wednesday night, Oct. 8, about his involvement in a hit-and-run accident in the Dominican Republic that left two women dead. "I am going to come out of this fine because my conscience is clear, and I'm not worried this will affect my career because I haven't done anything," said Burgos, speaking from a Dominican jail. He also said he had been ordered to remain in jail for three months, while waiting for his trial, out of a judge's concerns for his safety. Burgos also maintained that he was not at the wheel at the time of the accident, but was in the back seat, with his cousin driving.
