Cardinals | Carpenter has good chance of returning to rotation

Joe Strauss, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder) has a 90 percent chance of returning to the rotation next spring without undergoing offseason surgery, according to medical supervisor Dr. George Paletta. However, Paletta acknowledged that there is still risk.
