Yankees | Rasner struggles Sunday in shortest start of year
The Associated Press' David Ginsburg reports New York Yankees SP Darrell Rasner struggled Sunday, Aug. 24, while lasting 3 1/3 innings for his shortest start of the season. He threw 97 pitches but was only able to retire 10 of the 21 batters he faced, and was unable to take advantage of a 7-2 lead entering the bottom of the fourth inning. In all, he allowed five runs (three earned) on eight hits. "It was like I never pitched before," said Rasner. "I'm disgusted with my outing."
