Mets | Valentin to take rest of season off

Anthony DiComo, of Mets.MLB.com, reports New York Mets IF Jose Valentin called the Mets and told them that he was done playing baseball this season. He hopes to play again next season. "He called me and told me that his injuries are playing a big part," Mets vice president of player development Tony Bernazard said. "Mentally, it's taking a toll."
