Chip Ganassi Racing | Franchitti will not compete at Richmond

Tom Kreager, of The Tennessean, reports Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates driver Dario Franchitti (ankle) will not compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway. Franchitti injured his ankle in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway and has a slight ankle fracture, according to Dr. Kevin Scheid. Franchitti will be fitted with a carbon fiber ankle brace. Chip Ganassi Racing officials said Franchitti will be evaluated on a week-by-week basis.
