Fitz | Money doesn’t always equal success
Lee Montgomery, of SceneDaily.com, reports Fitz Motorsports driver Mike Bliss, who does not compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, is currently sixth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series overall point standings after five races. Bliss is competing against experienced Cup Series drivers week in and week out. However, Bliss and his team, Fitz Motorsports, are having success despite not being one of the wealthier teams on the circuit. Bliss is a former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion and may be why he is having so much success in the Nationwide Series without having to spend thousands of dollars to compete. Since joining the team last year to drive the No. 22 Dodge, Bliss has amassed two top-five and eight top-10 finishes in 24 starts. They missed the top 10 in the owner point standings by six points last season but managed to finish 11th in the overall standings, which is the best in Fitz Motorsports' history.
