Buccaneers | Losing Kelly saves $4.7 million in salary cap space
Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers saved $4.7 million in salary cap space when CB Brian Kelly bought out the final year of his contract several weeks ago. Kelly was scheduled to earn a $3.2 million base salary and receive a $1 million roster bonus, bringing his total cap value to $4.65 million. By buying himself out of his contract, he was required to repay $500,000 in signing bonus and will not receive the $1 million roster bonus as originally scheduled.
