Texans | Mathis accused of choking common-law wife

The Associated Press reports Houston Texans WR Jerome Mathis was arrested and charged with choking his pregnant common-law wife. Mathis was released on $3,000 bound and if he is convicted he could face up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. He received a misdemeanor in 2007 after his pit bull chewed through a fence and was acting aggressively.
