Cardinals | Politte signed to minor league deal

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold reports the St. Louis Cardinals finalized a minor league contract with free-agent RP Cliff Politte (Indians). Politte won a World Series with the Chicago White Sox in 2005 but is coming off a 2007 season erased by recovering from shoulder surgery. The deal is worth $600,000 in the major leagues, should he make the roster.
