Dodgers | Little resigns

Confirming an earlier item, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports Los Angeles Dodgers manager Grady Little has resigned with one year left on his original three-year deal. "I have a combination of a lot of reasons, and I'll leave it at that," said Little. "I've got my own, personal reasons. It's a mutual resignation. I know this is the best way to go. It's not an easy decision, as anyone might suggest, but it's final." Both Little and Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti emphasized that the decision was made by Little, and that he could have retained his job had he so chosen. Little had previously said he would return in 2008, but he began to express some doubts to Colletti about returning as a lame duck.
