Mets | Owen earns MiLB honor as top starter
New York Mets prospect SP Dylan Owen has been named the Short-Season Starting Pitcher of the Year for 2007 by MiLB.com, according to Michael Blinn of MLB.com on minorleaguebaseball.com. The righty had an outstanding season with Short-Season Brooklyn in the New York-Penn League, going 9-1 with a league-best 1.49 ERA and second-best 0.87 WHIP. He was a 20th-round draft pick this year out of Francis Marion University, a Division II school.
