Buccaneers | Dungy did not want to fire Shula
Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and current Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy said in his book, "Quiet Strength," that he did not agree with the choice of firing offensive coordinator Mike Shula early in 2000. Dungy reluctantly agreed to the idea, but later changed his mind. However, Shula resigned after the Pro Bowl that season.
