Mets | D. Williams thinks he was rushing pitches
Updating previous items, the Associated Press' Kristie Rieken reports New York Mets SP Dave Williams felt like he was rushing through his pitches while making his first appearance since Sept. 25 in his start Sunday, July 8. However, Williams didn't realize it until after he had exited the game. "I'm not really down on myself, I'm just kind of kicking myself for not slowing down," said Williams. "He got off with bad command," said Mets manager Willie Randolph. "He walked two or three guys (four). He just wasn't on. Obviously he was all over the place and struggled with his control." Williams' ERA is at 21.60 after his season debut.
