Mets | Williams cleared to play
The Newark Star-Ledger's Jeremy Cothran reports New York Mets SP Dave Williams (neck), who's now with Triple-A New Orleans, was given the go-ahead to pitch in the majors if the team needs him. He must be off the 15-day disabled list on or by July 22. "As long as he's pitching in the Triple-A level... he's ready to step in when we need him," Mets manager Willie Randolph said.
