Jaguars | Team Notes

Vito Stellino reports for the Times-Union the Jacksonville Jaguars began their off-season conditioning program Monday. WR Keenan McCardell and LB Hardy Nickerson did not attend, another sign that they are likely to be June 1 salary cap cuts. QB Mark Brunell seemed more resigned to the fact that the team lost some of its key players. He has learned to cope with the situation and said with a smile, "I probably got a little emotional." Brunell said he never asked to be traded and he doesn't want to leave Jacksonville. Brunell would still be willing to restructure his deal if it meant the Jaguars could keep McCardell. All indications are the Jaguars have decided they can't keep McCardell and his $5.3 million cap figure.
