MLB | Historian Charles Einstein dies
Former San Francisco Examiner and Chronicle reporter Charles A. Einstein, who became a noted baseball historian, and collaborated with Willie Mays on a pair of books, has died at the age of 80. Einstein died Wednesday, March 7, in Michigan City, Ind., according to the Associated Press. He wrote or edited more than 35 books, including four volumes of the "Fireside Book of Baseball." Einstein worked with Mays on the books "Born to Play Ball" and "My Life In and Out of Baseball," and also wrote a television documentary on his life.
