Buccaneers | League has not received Plummer's retirement papers
Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports the NFL has not received Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jake Plummer's retirement papers. "The NFL has not received a retirement letter from Jake Plummer. If a player plans to retire he must first send a letter notifying the league of his intentions. We don't have a letter," league spokesman Randall Liu said. Previous reports suggested Plummer had filed the necessary paperwork. The NFL Players Association suggested it would file a grievance trying to block the trade between the Buccaneers and Denver Broncos because retired players are not able to be traded. NFLPA spokesman Carl Francis said he did not know what the association's plans were regarding a grievance.
