Packers | More On Nickerson

The Journal Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers have made a formal contract offer to free agent MLB Hardy Nickerson (Jaguars). They still hope he'll choose to play with them rather than the Philadelphia Eagles. "I'm trying to put something together that's attractive to them and, at the same time, makes sense for us," said Andrew Brandt, VP of player finance. It appears Nickerson will command a salary of at least $1 million and a signing bonus that could bring his cap number to $1.2 million or more. The Eagles have $9.7 million in cap money, whereas the Packers have in the low $4 million range.
