Cowboys | To interview Rivera

Mac Engel, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports the Dallas Cowboys are expected to interview Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera Tuesday, Feb. 6, in regard to their head coaching vacancy. "I'm very excited," said Rivera, who mentioned he is "more than likely" flying to Texas to meet with the Cowboys Tuesday. "Just the fact that [Cowboys owner/general manager] Jerry Jones was willing to wait this long to talk to me is exciting." If the Cowboys wish to interview Rivera about making a lateral move to become their defensive coordinator, they must wait until after Feb. 20. Under league rules, the Cowboys can't interview Rivera for any position other than head coach until that date, or they could face charges of tampering.
