Patriots | Former linebacker T. Johnson says he was forced to practice with concussion
The Associated Press reports former New England Patriots LB Ted Johnson says head coach Bill Belichick subjected him to hard hits in practice while recovering from a concussion, against the advice of the team's top trainer, during the 2002 season, according to a report in The New York Times. Johnson said in an interview with the paper that a collision with another player in practice led to another concussion. Johnson says he now forgets people's names, misses appointments and suffers from depression and an addiction to amphetamines. There was a point where Johnson appeared headed to Alzheimer's disease. ''There's something wrong with me,'' Johnson said. ''There's something wrong with my brain. And I know when it started.''
