Vikings | Players support Pagac as potential def. coordinator

Don Seeholzer, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings LB E.J. Henderson joined CB Fred Smoot in endorsing linebackers coach Fred Pagac as the club's next defensive coordinator now that former defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin has departed. "I think for continuity reasons he would be a good fit because the guys are used to him," Henderson said. "I think all the guys respect him as a coach, knowing that he's been around the game for so long. We all respect him and what he's doing and all the things he brought to the defense as the linebacker coach." Defensive tackle Pat Williams agreed. "If they bring in somebody from outside, guys have to get used to him and learn to trust that guy," Williams said. "We had trust in coach Tomlin and all our coaches. It would be kind of hard if they brought in a brand-new guy." Another potential in-house candidate is defensive line coach Karl Dunbar.
