Redskins | Gibbs to make room for Portis and Betts in backfield in 2007

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs plans to use both RBs Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts often in 2007. With Portis sidelined with shoulder and hand issues, Betts has stepped up and shown he can perform at a high level, posting four 100-yard performances in a row. "We feel great about those two guys carrying the ball for us," Gibbs said. "They've been great partners in the past. Clinton leads off and Ladell had a huge portion of the offense and what he's done this year has been great -- great for him and great for us."
