Panthers | Weinke could start Week 14

Pat Yasinskas, of the Charlotte Observer, reports there is a strong chance Carolina Panthers backup QB Chris Weinke will make his first start of the 2006 season during Week 14 due to QB Jake Delhomme (thumb) missing practice Thursday, Dec. 7. Weinke has not started a game since 2002. He has been working with the first-string offense during practice this week.
