Colts | Team will not pay balance of Simon's salary
Citing The Indianapolis Star, ESPN.com reports the Indianapolis Colts will not pay the balance of DL Corey Simon's (knee) salary, according to team owner Jim Irsay. Simon has not practiced since injuring his left knee during the first full week of training camp. The team placed him on the non-football injury list after being diagnosed as likely having polyarthritis. The condition will sideline Simon for the 2006 season and the team will not have to pay his $2.5 million base salary, according to sources who told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
