Raiders | Shell defends Walsh's system

Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reports Oakland Raiders head coach Art Shell believes offensive coordinator Tom Walsh's system is sound and the team's offense will improve. The Raiders are currently last in the league in average yards per game and have only scored 27 points in three games. Shell said, "I don't feel I have to defend anything. We're going to do what we think is best. This offense is not so much different from a lot of offenses in this league. But when you lose, you don't win the games, people have a tendency to pick on you, and I understand that. That goes with the territory. But when we start winning, and we will, then the tone will change. And you'll wonder why we'll be doing a lot of the same things we've been doing. This system isn't so much different than a lot of other systems. I don't know where all that comes from."
