Angels | Carew named Hometown Hero

Greg Wagner, of LosAngeles.Angels.MLB.com, reports the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have named IF Rod Carew as their Hometown Hero. Carew played seven seasons for the Angels, hitting .314, with a .393 on-base percentage. Carew also picked up his 3,000th hit with the franchise. He finished his career with 3,053 hits, good for 21st on the All-time list.
