Padres | Branyan hit by pitch, status unknown

The Associated Press reports San Diego Padres 3B Russell Branyan (hand) left the team's Sept. 24 game after he was hit on a hand by a pitch from Pittsburgh Pirates RP Juan Perez. Branyan, whose condition after the game was not known, was replaced by pinch-runner Manny Alexander, who then remained in the game at third base.
