Browns | Friedman waived and then re-signed
Mike McLain, of the Tribune Chronicle, reports the Cleveland Browns had to waive OL Lennie Friedman Monday, Aug. 28, to tweak his contract. Once the change was made, Freidman was re-signed and was on the practice field the last two days. "My contract was a little different than it was in Chicago," Friedman said. "They had to terminate the first contract and have the other one take hold. I think I was not with the Browns for about five minutes." Friedman should receive plenty of time coming off the bench in relief of OC Ross Tucker in the preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 31, against the Chicago Bears. Browns' head coach Romeo Crennel has said that Friedman and Tucker are competing for the starting job.
