Ravens | Anderson giving advice to younger teammates
Edward Lee, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens RB Mike Anderson has been giving advice to the younger running backs on the team. Running backs coach Tony Nathan said, "He's great with the group. He's been showing a lot of the young guys how to conduct themselves. He understands that we're all on the same team. ... We are all competing for playing time, and that's what makes us better." Anderson, a former Marine, has used his military training to help shape his approach to football. "In the Marines, you don't complain. You do as you're told. You don't quit and you lay it out there. There were times when I was [frustrated]. But I always believed in myself. I knew what I had to do, but when you're not the one calling the shots or making the decisions, it's kind of hard to do as you please. You just deal with it, and I dealt with it in my own ways," added Anderson. His optimism has been tested this preseason, as he's taken a back seat to RB Jamal Lewis and RB P.J. Daniels.
