Panthers | Hoambrecker forced to resign from Nestle
Joe Menzer, of the Winston-Salem Journal, reports Carolina Panthers PK Mackenzie Hoambrecker left a sales job in Omaha, Neb., with Nestle to take part in the Panthers' training camp. Two days ago, Hoambrecker's boss at Nestle forced him to resign as Hoambrecker's stay with the team stretched into a second week. The kicker said, "I don't know if you want to say I was fired, but I had to turn in my resignation. So that was interesting. I had a job when I came out here, and now I don't have a job back home." Hoambrecker, who has a masters degree in communications and an undergraduate degree in business, added, "It was a good job and all, but an opportunity like this might be once in a lifetime. I had to take it."
