Dolphins | Late contract could spell no starting job for Allen

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the longer Miami Dolphins S Jason Allen remains out of training camp, the greater the odds he might not immediately contend for a starting spot, as the Dolphins expected when making him a first-round pick in last April's NFL Draft. Three days into camp practices, the Dolphins seemed entrenched in their demand that Allen sign a six-year contract. Agent Mitch Frankel is adamant about a five-year deal so Allen could potentially become an unrestricted free agent one season earlier. Three Dolphins safeties, Travares Tillman and Renaldo Hill and backup Yeremiah Bell, said Monday, July 31, that they would try to help Allen get up to speed when he finally agrees to a contract.
