49ers | Team signs Roman

Updating previous reports, the Associated Press reports the San Francisco 49ers have signed S Mark Roman to an undisclosed contract. In San Francisco, Roman will compete with S Chad Williams, S Keith Lewis and S Mike Adams in a wide-open race to become the 49ers' starting free safety. Roman also could see time in S Tony Parrish's spot at strong safety.
