NFL | Clarett fires attorneys before trial
The Associated Press reports free agent RB Maurice Clarett (Broncos) has fired attorneys William Settina and Robert Krapenc two weeks before his trial for aggravated burglary and weapons charges. They filed a motion Monday, July 24, saying they do not want to continue as Clarett's lawyers, claiming he did not pay their fees and is not cooperating in his own defense. Courth documents do not list any other attorney for Clarett. Common Pleas Judge David S. Fais has scheduled a hearing for Thursday, July 27, to address the situation.
