Falcons | Team may still sit Crumpler for some preseason games

George Henry, writing for the Sporting News, reports Atlanta Falcons TE Alge Crumpler (knee, shoulder) expects to recover completely from offseason shoulder surgery, but the team will hold him out of the early portion of camp and likely the first three preseason games, too. Crumpler also underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after the 2005 season, so he would've been limited in camp even if his shoulder were healthy. Crumpler's injury also provides valuable snaps for TE Dwayne Blakley, who is a better receiving option than No. 2 TE Eric Beverly.
