Rams | Linehan discusses M. Faulk
Steve Korte, of the News-Democrat, reports St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan discussed RB Marshall Faulk (knee) Friday, July 21. As previously reported, Faulk is OUT for the 2006 season and his career is in jeopardy as he's tentatively scheduled to undergo reconstructive knee surgery next week. "When your legs start to go, that's a big concern for any athlete, especially a running back," Linehan said. "The reality of the situation is that he probably won't available for us this season, and he has to come to terms with whether he is going continue trying to play." The Rams must decide whether to place Faulk on the active or inactive Physically-Unable-To-Perform (PUP) lists or injured reserve. The Rams could save $2 million on the salary cap if they release Faulk, but Linehan said that wasn't an option.
