Hot off the Wire news, rumors and tips

Cowboys | Bledsoe ready for the Owens’ challenge

Nick Eatman, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys QB Drew Bledsoe is ready for the challenge and opportunity of having WR Terrell Owens as a teammate. The addition of Terrell Owens should make Bledsoe's life easier, at least between the whistles. Owens is still one of the NFL's most electrifying players, and when he's atop his game, he can make just about any quarterback look good. However, Owens has also had his share of problems with quarterbacks. Bledsoe said he understands that wide receivers want the ball, and added he prefers it that way over the contrary. "To me, I want my receivers to want the football on every play," Bledsoe said this summer. "That's the mentality of the great wide receivers. They want the ball all the time because they think they're going to make the best play. In his (Owens') case, he is one of the best players in the game. It's going to be my job to get him the football. It's something I look forward to."
