Broncos | Sauerbrun plans to appeal positive drug test

Andrew Mason, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos P Todd Sauerbrun plans to appeal his four-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance, according to head coach Mike Shanahan. Shanahan said, "We'll deal with that after the appeal goes through, and at that time, I'll address it." If the suspension stands, the team has three other punters on its roster with P Paul Ernster, P Tyler Fredrickson and P Jeff Williams. PK Jason Elam punted in college and often punts during practice and pregame warmups, but has not punted in a regular season game sine 1995. Elam said, "It's something I've always liked doing. If it comes to that, I'll welcome the opportunity and do the very best I can, and if not, we've got a lot of guys out there that are trying hard and are very talented.
