Red Sox | Place joins Gulf Coast League

Updating an earlier item, Boston.RedSox.MLB.com's Mike Petraglia reports the Boston Red Sox have assigned OF Jason Place, their first-round selection in this month's First-Year Player Draft, to the rookie Gulf Coast League Red Sox in Fort Myers, Fla. Place was one of the highest rated high school outfield prospects in this year's draft. He is a five-tool, impact-type player.
