Bears | Manning’s comfort zone expanding daily
Larry Mayer, of CHicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears CB Ricky Manning Jr. is making steady progress in familiarizing himself with his teammates and the defensive scheme. Manning said, "It's going to take a bit of time. You can't rush perfection, but I think I fit in real well. I'm working real hard, whether it's studying the playbook in my hotel room or meeting with the coaches to learn this defense and how they want me to play it. It's going well." While Manning would prefer to be a starter, he understands his situation with the team. "I wasn't a starter last year. I had the same role just being the nickel guy. I wouldn't say I'm perfectly fine with that, but it's not tough. I'm here to work and whatever my role's going to be, I'm just here to give my best and help this team go to the Super Bowl," said Manning.
