Broncos | Shanahan once again discusses running backs; Sapp in the mix too?

Bill Wilson, of the Reporter-Herald, reports Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan once again discussed his running back situation Friday, June 2. Shanahan hinted there is a chance FB Cecil Sapp would get an opportunity to earn more carries next season. "Heck, I feel Cecil Sapp could do a great job playing at the tailback position," Shanahan said. "We've got some guys there competing for the job, and even though we have some people listed as one, two, three and four, you really don't know who they're going to be until you get through the preseason." In order to earn significant time at tailback, Sapp would have to overcome frontrunners RB Ron Dayne, who is gaining steam after a comeback performance in 2005, and RB Tatum Bell, whose durability is still in question.
