MLB | Gooden says “he’d rather get shot” than go back to prison
The Associated Press reports former New York Mets Cy Young Award winner Dwight Gooden, who is serving a one-year prison sentence for violating his probation by using cocaine, said in an interview with the New York Post that he plans to remain sober after his release, expected to come as early as November. "I can't come back here," Gooden said. "I'd rather get shot than come back here. If I don't get the message this time, I never will."
