Steelers | Dekker out to change Ivy League Stereotypes

Joe Bendel, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers rookie TE Jon Dekker is trying to change the stereotype of Ivy League football players. "Some guys think I'm a genius," Dekker said. "But that's not true. Our coach at Princeton, coach (Roger) Hughes, always says we recruit football players who are smart. Not smart guys who can play football. I like that, because I think, sometimes, coming out of the Ivy League, you can get a rap that it's not really intense football; it's all about the books. ... I think we had a good balance of academics and athletics."
