Cowboys | L. Williams hoping to be noticed after NFL Europe stint and World Bowl appearance
Michael Preston, writing for the Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys CB Lenny Williams hopes Cowboys' coaches are watching game film, as promised, of his 10-week tenure with the Frankfurt Galaxy and have discovered something new about his game. Williams isn't just a cornerback aiming for a roster spot in Dallas. He returns kickoffs for the Galaxy too. "I think it's going to be really important for me because I don't think the Cowboys expected me to be returning kicks," he said. "I haven't done that since I was in college [at Southern]. I did that a little bit when I was in Tampa with the Buccaneers, so it was good to show the Cowboys what I can do. I think it was a plus, in addition to sharpening my corner skills." Williams will start at left cornerback in the World Bowl against the Amsterdam Admirals. Williams has returned 16 kickoffs for 406 yards. His 25.4-yard average ranks third in NFL Europe. He also has three interceptions, 30 tackles and a team-leading 11 passes defended.
